Such devices may be composed of small patches, antennas, inductors, switches, diodes, LRC circuits, etc. One application of such devices is the control and manipulation of how the incident radiation is received and transmitted or reflected into the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"inherit-container-width wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do we simulate them in a system<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>IRS are simulated in EMSlice as an array of patch antennas of a size and spacing less than the wavelength of the radiation of interest. The electromagnetic properties of each component of the array can be set specifically to suit the scenario.
