Network Design

EMSlice is used to evaluate different radio propagation mechanisms and parameters, as well as different communication technologies and configurations. Their behavior, and their impact on a planned network’s performance is crucial to the efficient development of communication technologies and network deployments.

Considerations to be modelled include:

  • interactions at interfaces:
    • transmission
    • reflection
    • scattering
    • diffraction
  • path loss models
  • antenna design
  • beam forming

These propagation mechanisms can be applied to networks of different types, including:

  • WIFI (2.4 & 5.0 GHz)
  • GSM (380 – 1900 MHz)
  • LTE (700 – 2600 MHz)
  • 5G (up to 75 GHz)

These propagation mechanisms can be applied to the simulation of wireless networks in different scenarios, including:

  • indoor LAN
  • outdoor LAN & WAN
  • automotive V2V & V2I & V2X
  • High Speed Rail (HSR)
  • Aerial/ drone

The Results of Simulations can be returned in different ways:

  • visually by drawing on screen:
    • RSSI heatmap
    • DOD & DOA plot
    • impulse response plot
    • TX to RX propagation path
  • exporting calculation results to .csv or .xml
